Kitty Spangles Solitaire 3.6 - New Games!

Hello again Kitty Friends!

It's been a very busy year so far at the Kitty Ranch, so please forgive the lack of blog posts. We'll do better, but sometimes it's just better to work at creating more Kitty Goodness, than talking about it.

What's New?

Kitty Spangles Solitaire 3.6 has been released, and is a free update for all registered players.

To download the update, simply launch Kitty and she'll guide you through the update process.

Or, you can download the update manually, by clicking here.

What's in 3.6?

This release is mostly about the addition of three new games, all of which belong to the Beleaguered Castle family. These are challenging games, needing players to think ahead. The most obvious cards may not be the best ones to play...

Chessboard

This is quite an unusual game, and very addictive. Choose a Base Card by dragging a card from a Tableau pile to a Foundation pile. The three remaining Foundation piles will then change, to show that you can only build those piles up from that Base Card value.

e.g. if you place a 6 on an empty Foundation Pile, you will have to first place sixes on the other Foundation Piles before you can build them.

Your choice of Base Card is crucial, and the obvious choice may not work out, so you will probably have to Undo moves or Restart the hand quite frequently, and pick a new Base Card to build from.

Because any card can be placed on a Foundation Pile initially, the Piles are circular in that you can place an Ace on a King.

Another unusual feature of this game is that the Tableau Piles can be built up or down, as long as they are built in same-suit. This takes a little getting used too, and it's common to be stuck for a while, only to realize that you can build upwards as well as down.

Choosing a Base Card in Chessboard

Fortress

This game is even more challenging than Chessboard because you don't get to choose the Base Card. Instead, the Foundation Piles must be built up from Ace to King.

The same Tableau rules apply, though: cards can be built up or down, as long as they share the same suit.

Fortress

Streets & Alleys

The last of the new games is similar to Fortress, but a little easier. The Tableau Piles can only be built in descending value, but can be built in any suit. The Foundation Piles must be built in suit, from Ace to King.
